Novel damaged when shoved into box that was too small
Excited for my niece and her first DC collectible graphic novel. Book was 1/8" too long for the box. Amazon packer forced the graphic novel into the box, breaking the spine at the base. Not Pleased.

I had no real expectations of enjoying this. I last paid attention to Wonder Woman sometime a few decades ago. I dipped in again with the Rebirth event and wowza.... one of the silliest of characters has become simply awesome. Shockingly, this may be my favorite of the Rebirth series at this stage: beautifully drawn, exciting, personal, and.... adult. Not in the R-rated sense, of course, but in the sense of having emotional depth and a complicated world, in the sense of having uncertainty. Great, rip-roaring story. Truly enjoyed it

Greg Rucka is one of my favorite comic book writers, his work on Black Magic is also worth checking out! He does a great job with Wonder Woman, my friend and I are both fans and we both enjoyed this one a lot. It's also very accessible for a new fan!

Greg Rucka returns to the character he wrote so well pre-New 52. Wonder Woman Rebirth kicks off the Amazon's new era with the question of how Diana's numerous origin story rewrites have come to effect her character. Despite being one aspect of DC's main trinity, Wonder Woman has had a few questionable retconns and weaker story arcs over the year. Rebirth embraces this disparity by canonizing the various origin stories and setting up the idea that Diana is being manipulated and outplayed by an outside force. The two main origin stories for Diana (that she was a child made of clay and given life by the gods and that she was a child of Zeus) are the focus here with Diana enlisting the help of her friend turned enemy Cheetah to hunt the truth. While also reigniting her flame with old friend Steve Trevor (now that New 52's Superman has passed on), Rucka has woven an intriguing and fun first volume that has Wonder Woman questioning her very perception of reality. While any fans of Wonder Woman's recent story arcs (especially the awesome New 52 Absolute Wonder Woman run) may be disheartened to hear that those stories are potentially being voided by this new twist it is a cool new direction for the character and I am excited to see where Rucka takes things from here. Fans of the comic will probably find this easier to read than by individual issues as the first run of the Rebirth era Wonder Woman series bounces between "The Lies" and "Year One". This book collects the odd-numbered "The Lies" issues #1, #3, #5, #7, #9, #11. The even numbered issues revisit Wonder Woman's classic origin stories in the next volume ("Year One").

I think it’s rather strange you can’t leave a simple review to a book, but I loved this comic. I can’t wait to read more Wonder Woman comics!

I picked this for a challenge prompt of a non patriarchal society. I figured the origin of Wonder woman was definitely in a matriarchal society. This is a story of deception that I think having some awareness of the Wonder Woman tale enhances. Not knowing wouldn’t ruin it but the reader might be a bit lost

Haven't read many comics in a long time, let alone in electronic format, but I enjoyed reading this book very much. Wonder Woman has always been one of my favorite superheroes. Looking forward to reading Volume 2 of the series!

A simple story but a powerful one. Clean lines of the artwork make it a joy to read. A clever twist on the usual wonderwoman story. Is everything really as it seems? But in the end a story of how best friends dont give up on each other.

Deixo uma observação: Amazon, mas cuidado com os produtos. Amo comprar com vocês, mas fiquei bem triste com o que aconteceu com minha primeira encomenda.
