4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 47 ratings

Collects Wolverine and Jubilee #1-4 and Uncanny X-Men #244.

For a loner, the mutant known as Wolverine sure has a lot of friends. Through the years, he's been a member of countless teams and alliances, but some of his relationships have been more tender in nature. He's had sidekicks of sorts in the likes of Kitty Pryde and X-23, and especially Jubilee. Finding a surrogate daughter in her, Wolverine has always tried to protect Jubilee from the dangerous life they lead. And now that she's fallen victim to a vampire's bite, she needs him more than ever - whether she likes it or not. As Jubilee spins out of control, Wolverine has dedicated himself to saving her humanity - but with her fate hanging in the balance, he may just have to kill a few people to stop her from doing the same. This time, protecting Jubilee may put them both in their graves!

Wolverine and Jubilee are so cute together, this mini shows how he cares about her in a deep way even if he shows that through "tough love". It's the process Jubilee goes through to get at peace at being a vampire. Yes, she's a vampire but not in a "twilight" way if you know what I mean. If you like Logan's fatherly side then you should get this mini. Only con, the color of print is a little yellowish in my opinion, but it looks normal in the extra pages though.

TBH Dadverine is the only reason to read this. It's still doing vamp Jubilee and M-day shenanigans as well as the plot and characters meandering, but I'll take what I can get.

Good book to read

As a fan of Jubilee and her relationship with Wolverine. I was excited to see them team up again, yet disappointed she lost her often underrated powers. She could destroy the solar system if she wanted to. Maybe that's why they striped her powers and others mutants as well. I'm not into vampires anymore like I was when I was younger but there were some interesting characters that were introduced. Makes me want to read a little more in the series.

Again, Kathryn Immonen shows her fantastic strength in writing as well as her unique wit. The relationship between Wolverine and Jubilee is suprisingly fasinating and speaking as someone who hasn't always been a fan of Jubilee, I felt like this is the story where I "got it".

It's not a story that will transform the Marvel U as we know it but not every story has to. So if you're looking for something cute and cool, this is for you.

I read the back of this collection in a comic shop and thought it sounded stupid. I’ve always liked the dynamic between Wolverine and Jubilee, however, so when I got some digital credits from Amazon I thought I would check it out anyway.

I wasn’t disappointed. Which is to say, I was. Not only is the premise kind of weak (Jubilee is a vampire for some reason, but not really, but kind of—she never acts bloodthirsty, but exhibits some super powers that could be attributed to being a vampire), but it seems like a lot of action and plot happens off-page. I felt like I was missing big, big chunks of the story between pages. Characters were suddenly in different places without a lot of explanation of how they got there, or why they had to go there. I suppose I can’t criticize pointless dragons existing and showing up in a world that also has Lockheed, but they did seem randomly thrown in.

Maybe this is what comics are like nowadays and they avoid drawing much of the action? I’ll admit I haven’t read any X-titles from this century, so maybe there’s something I am expected to already know that would provide more context for the story in the collection. If that’s the case, perhaps it should be included in the volume. I was trying to get back into the series as a whole after being out of the loop for a couple of decades, and this collection didn’t really help. The inclusion of a vintage volume was a nice touch for anyone who wasn’t familiar with Jubilee’s origin, but was superfluous to an overall story that seemed to assume a lot more recent knowledge* of the series.

*That, or comics just no longer provide context and they jump around mercilessly on the reader. I’m not sure which is the case.

Good artwork. Perfectly paced story with both action and humor. Jubilee and Wolverine make a great team.

4.0 out of 5 stars 吸血鬼となったジュビリーがX-MENに復帰するまでの戦い
Reviewed in Japan on April 2, 2012
