If you have enjoyed the series so far you will only continue to love it as Tanya's libertarian/individualistic values clashes against the Communist Federation.
After taking place in a WWI style war Tanya begins to move from the trenches of WWI to the mobile warfare that came to symbolize WWII. Creating an interesting blend of WWII and Magic.
What I appreciate most about Zen's writing is he does a great job explaining how mages fit into this worlds military doctrine and how Tanya is evolving their tactics.
My main problems with this novel in particular are nothing but personal preferences, while I foreseen the series moving toward a WWII style of war I felt the WWI setting was different and refreshing. Not that the newer more WWII style stories are bad, I still thoroughly enjoy them and Tanya remains my favorite Light Novel series. I was just hoping to see Zens takes on theaters such as the Dardanelles, Italy, and Arabian Revolts.
Another problem I have with this novel in particular is the inside cover art, where its a bit sexually explicate even though the worst of it is blurred out. Not a major problem, but one that could push away people getting into the series or just skimming through the books for the first time.
Overall, the writing and world building of The Saga of Tanya the Evil is great, the dialog is sharp, and the illustrations continue to be fantastic.
