John Ridley has masterfully combined period knowledge with the DC titles of the era to create a wonderful and often heart-wrenching series of character studies focused on the BIPOC heroes of the second and third tiers of superherodom. Along the way he invites you to question exactly why these heroes are consigned to the ranks of the lesser known.
