About the author
Joshua Williamson is a New York Times bestselling author who resides in Portland, Oregon. Joshua has written for nearly every comic publisher with creator owned works such as Ghosted, Birthright and Nailbiter. One of the pillars of the modern DC Universe, with an iconic run on the Flash, the longest any writer had spinning out of the DC Rebirth initiative, his role as one of the architects of both Death Metal and Infinite Frontier, Josh has cemented his reputation with fans as one of the best voices at DC. But his heart will always be with creator owned comics and building new worlds.

Flash #7 "No More Speedsters"
Writer: Joshua Williamson
Artist: Carmine Di Giandomenico
Plot: Flash knows now that August Heart is Godspeed, and now he has bring him down before he can kill again. Godspeed believes that Flash should kill the criminals he puts away, for they will only come back from prison and commit more crimes or kill again. Even though Godspeed has admitted to killing Dr. Meena Dhawan, Flash still believes that August needs to be put in jail rather than be killed. Whose sense of justice will win out in this all out Speed Force battle?
This is the Batman vs. Punisher argument issue: Flash believes that every criminal is entitled to a fair trial even if a person murders someone, and Godspeed believes that he can prevent more death and suffering by killing the criminal before he can escape and kill again. The battle between the Flash and Godspeed has also become a battle of ideologies besides just a battle of who has a greater mastery of the Speed Force. Godspeed has revealed that in order to obtain more of the Speed Force that he has unintentionally killed the other speedsters including Meena, while trying to suck up their powers. Now Flash must suck up the Speed Force powers from the remaining speedsters, and he has figured out that if he sucks up the Speed Force from willing users with another speedster (although the issue doesn't explain exactly why another speedster is required) that he won't kill those speedsters while obtaining their powers. Luckily, Wally is there to offer his help with his powers and proceeds to help the Flash.
This is probably one of the longest running story arcs amongst the current Rebirth books along with Aquaman, and I felt the battle was getting drawn out a bit. However, this story ties up nicely the problem of other speedsters by having them give up the powers to Flash and one story element is taken care of. The battle of ideologies has been done better in Netflix's Daredevil Season 2, but I felt that this comic handled the material very well and has made the comic more compelling. Despite the fact that the issue doesn't explain why he needed Wally's help to suck up the Speed Force powers from the other speedsters, I felt it was a solid issue that is worth picking up.
