Great Book, Poor Condition Upon Receipt
Love the graphic novel, but the book arrived in poor condition. Corner was bent and broken on bottom. Corner was bent on top. Whole cover was bent out on side, wouldn't even lay flat. 2 Stars for an awesome graphic novel. no stars for condition of product.

The Darkness is a series that has always had some amazing art. But when you get DC entities like Joker and Batman into The Darkness style you now get some crazy looking scenes! I'm really enjoying it!

Just don't order if you have multiple different sized books in the same package. Amazon has a hard time properly packing these and it will cause a dent or crease in your books due to them shuffling around the box with deflated bubble wrap.

It reminds me of McFarland but that's ok... The art and the complexity of the relationships draw the reader right into the Darkness. Good job.

Amazing example of pencils, inks and color.
I would recommend this to all newbies as well as fans of the series.

The story is good but its only a small part of the book the rest is all on the Darkness and has nothing to do with Batman. It also has a senario with Superman again just half of the book is crossover. Still the book is good but I was expecting the whole book to be a crossover thats why I gave it a 4 star.

I wouldn't even recommend this to hardcore Garth Ennis fans such as myself. A screamingly unoriginal character, "The Darkness," does comic book cliches that were tired in the 1980's. Lots of women w/ pneumatic breasts, if that's your thing. And who isn't jonesing for more Mafia cliches? Nothing much in the way of plot, dialogue, etc., either, never mind intricacies such as characterization. Ennis fans and would-be fans are much better served looking at almost anything else he's written, but esp. The Boys, Red Rover Charlie, or any of his war tales. Any Image comic fans should also steer clear... hard to believe this the same publisher as the mighty Saga by Brian K. Vaughan.

Glad I bought it used. Not even worth passing along to a pal or selling back; look out, Goodwill, here the Darkness comes!

Interesting but, not as much actual interaction with batman as I'd thought there would be. Not enough to pull me into reading about his world. But kinda cool

This book Has the Batman and Superman Crossover one shots AND the first 5 issues of the Darkness Series. The two DC stories are good. Marc Silvestris artwork of batman and Superman are beautiful. Seeing his Splash page of the Joker is a sight to behold. Get the book if you like Silvestris artwork, want to read the crossovers or if you want the first 5 issues of the Darkness with the added bonus of the crossovers. I wish it was in a deluxe oversized format. The artwork is beautiful, especially if you are used to the DC and Marvel House art styles.
