Tai Wu Xia - Ultimate Kung Fu Warrior #1: Fu the Immortal

Tai Wu Xia the Ultimate Kung Fu Warrior is a young Chinese superhero. Harry Chen, his alter ego in whom powers are combined in ways never seen before, finally comes to terms with his special super powers and training in tai chi and kung fu to take up the mantle to fight bad guys and evil that threaten China, and even the rest of the world.

Harry Chen is the thirteenth generation in both families of tai chi and kung fu masters. Long before his birth, and even before his parents knew each other, fortune tellers on either side of his family predict that, "In the fullness of time, a boy, of the thirteenth generation of your family, shall be born in the year of the sheep. He may be weak and powerless, and the one to bring an end to the family's long line of mastery. Or, he could mark the beginning of an even more powerful dispensation of your lineage, as in him powers may be combined in ways never seen before. His final destiny shall, in part, lie in the hands of his ancestors and in part in his own."

As Providence would have it, Harry is born in the year of the sheep. But ancestors on both sides of the family are not going to stand by helplessly as the first part of the prophecy comes to pass. At the time of his birth, they gather around and call upon their favourite gods of ancient times to give them certain powers which they plant into the child together with the seeds of tai chi and kung fu skills which they honed over centuries, ensuring that the part of the prophecy that says "he could mark the beginning of an even more powerful dispensation of your lineage," is instead fulfilled. Thus begins the making of Tai Wu Xia.
