This Baby Boomer, mother of three grown children, and grandmother of four has finally come to the conclusion that drawing, cartooning, and storytelling were always a large part of my life. I have been deeply influenced by the great Charles Shultz, Norman Rockwell, Walt Disney and Bill Watterson.
How did I forget? I fell into the "norm" that cartoons and colorful drawings were child creations and were not considered "grown up" art. However, I continued to be drawn toward colorful cartoons. My mom wore a Mickey Mouse watch until she passed. My Dad never got enough of Snoopy. I realized that the love of comics and colorful art never left me, regardless of my age.
I have sketched, designed T-shirts & coffee mugs, developed White board ads, children's video books, sports videos & posters, drew comics, drew people, and their beloved animals, over the past 50 years, while attending school and working other jobs. I am so excited to start the next chapter in my life, full-time, devoted to art.
