After moving to Los Angeles, Sterling worked as a writer's room production assistant on TV's Blade: The Series, later becoming assistant to comic book industry giant Geoff Johns.

Since selling his first story to DC Comics in 2007, Sterling has written such titles as
Green Lantern Corps, Justice League of America, World's Finest, Action Comics, Adventure Comics, Flashpoint: Kid Flash Lost, Hawk & Dove, JLA: Vibe, Forever Evil: A.R.G.U.S., Stormwatch and The Flash: Season Zero, but he is best known for his critically acclaimed run on Supergirl. Sterling also wrote

Picture is inaccurate. The one you will get is the one with the writing on it, not the one shown with no writing. I will always give permanent 1 star reviews to anything inaccurately depicted. That is a simple basic trust when selling online. Also, the book feels a little warped as if it may have been damp. Should've went local.

The Reactron story was a piece of the larger New Krypton story that spanned Supergirl, Superman, Action Comics and a set of mini-series that ran for around 1.5 years, back in 2009-2010. Sterling Gates was one of the primary architects of that story, along with Geoff Johns and James Robinson. This is definitely worth reading.

The great cover artist, Joshua Middleton, drew a few of the covers of the original issues that are included in this collection - in what I'd describe as a simpler style than he uses now, but really stunning stuff.

I'd also like to shout out about the short offbeat story included from Superman Secret Files 2009, "Blood Sisters" - set on Krypton, it's a look back at an adventure a younger Kara had with her best friend at the time, Thara. Thara is heavily involved in the New Krypton saga, functioning as the character Flamebird on earth, and at odds with Kara for much of the series due to a tragic misunderstanding.

Sterling Gates became THE premiere Supergirl writer with this run.

He was able to define Kara without undermining her journey, or talking down to an audience, and created a Superman-family comic that was consistantly the best book on comic stands, month in and month out.

Jamal Igle was able to treat Supergirl with a visual style that made her look heroic, without sexualizing her. She looked her age, she was expressive, and her body-type was realistic and that was extremely refreshing.

Anybody picking up this trade (and the others collecting the run) would be adding something special to their fandom.

This is not to be missed.

Sterling and Jamal have raised the bar with their take on this iconic character. They've weaved a fun and exciting tale, showing what a great Supergirl story looks like. Would highly recommend their run to anyone!

So far volume 4 has been the best. I still don't like how some of the story is tied to other titles so you miss some of the plot twist but I guess that's life in the world of DC

Gates is one of my favorites. This was a great run that I have in individual issues, I'm glad to see these in trade because I am so disorganized so I never have all the issues of any run (going back to the bronze age) in one place.

A great tie-in to the New Krypton story, from the best creative team to ever handle Supergirl. The art is terrific and the story has a great emotional drive with Supergirl hunting the man who killed her father. It's everything you want in a Supergirl comic, especially if you like the tone of the TV show.
