4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 44 ratings

“When I grow up” part one! The sons of Batman and Superman have graduated to their own monthly comic-but if they want to survive, they’re going to have to share it! Writer Peter J. Tomasi (BATMAN & ROBIN, SUPERMAN) teams with rising-star artist Jorge Jimenez (EARTH 2) to bring you the adventures of the World’s Smallest. This debut issue looks at the lives of Robin and Superboy and their destiny to follow in their fathers’ footsteps, while we meet a new villain whose ascension parallels the boys’ own understanding of their powers-except that he believes it’s his right to rule over every being on the planet!

I have mixed feelings how the series could be but I have high hopes. I enjoy the characters their personality and doing what boys do best.

It's interesting to think Robin is a bad boy to the innocent Superboy. I love the shenanigans they do together. It made me laugh.

Comic Book Review (10/10) “Masterpiece”
Super Sons #1: When I Grow Up Part 1
Writer: Peter J. Tomasi
Artist: Jorge Jimenez
Plot: Damian Wayne aka Robin and Jonathan Kent aka Superboy, are being chased by robotic Robins and Superboys. Can they get out of this predicament and turn in their homework assignments on time?
This comic was exactly what I wanted it to be and more: a fun light-hearted action comic with hilarious banter between Damian and Jonathan. The script and art couldn’t have been more perfect. There were also several moments in the comic where the story caught me off guard. Jimenez worked on the Superman title last year, and I remember I loved his rendition of Jon and wanted to see more of it. Not only does he draw Jon perfectly, but he also nailed the look of Damian. My favorite part was the juxtaposition of how Batman interacted with his son, and how Superman interacted with his son, and it lasted for about 4 pages, but the tone was so perfect that I couldn’t help but read that section of the comic twice. Fun and engaging – if I wasn’t laughing while I was reading this comic, I was also smiling the rest of the way. Can’t wait for the next issue!
