From the Publisher

San Francisco-based creative Mike Kennedy was a full-time video game developer and aspiring writer when he first began going to comic book conventions in 1988. A self-proclaimed enthusiast of noir fiction and the darker elements of storytelling, Kennedy eventually accepted his first comics writing assignment for the long-running Dark Horse series Ghost in 1999. The following year, Kennedy's top-flight writing skills were called upon when Dark Horse, teamed with NY-based publisher DC Comics, set out to find the perfect person to script a ground-breaking cross-over series between the two companies' deadliest femme fatales, Dark Horse's Ghost and DC's Batgirl. With Ghost/Batgirl: The Resurrection Engine, Kennedy proved his mettle as an incredibly talented and multi-faceted writer, and the crime-riddled cities called Arcadia and Gotham haven't been the same since.

This is a miniseries that deserves to be remembered. While I am a Jedi Fan, my heart will always belong to the Scoundrels. Three Hutts, including Jabba, hire bounty hunters in a contest to get the artifact The Yavin Vassilika to see whose methods are better. These contestants include Han Solo, Chewie, and an assortment of other scoundrels and bounty hunters. There are betrayals and double crosses as you would expect and the art by the late Carlos Meglia may seem offputting to some, but I am a fan myself since it matches the fun tone the book is going for. The only problem with it is that... it's out of print. If you can find a copy, buy it. It's worth it.

No grand cosmic struggles of Light vs Dark in this Graphic Novel, nor any bold tales of Jedi battling the Sith. This is a gritty, sci-fi/film noir tale of treasure-hunters, Hutt gangsters, & a double-dealin' dame named Jozzel Moffet. Han & Chewie will be lucky to come out of this with their skins in one piece.

If they DO, Jabba The Hutt will pay them a cool fortune in Imperial Credits for the artifact called the Yavin Vasilika. But first, they have to beat half the bounty hunters, smugglers & low-lifes in the galaxy, & the only thing more dangerous than their enemies are their friends!

QUICK SUMMARY:
Artwork--exaggerated, but attractive.
Script--exciting & fun, with just a touch of comedy relief.
CONCLUSION__a fun read, & a good buy.

The Hipster gives it a Thumbs Up!

So my brother is a huge fan of star wars. and star trek but that's has nothing to do with this review.

He has told me that he really like's this book and that I should give it 5 stars, so....brother approved and I don't think it's that bad either.

Being a recent fan of Star Wars I couldn't wait to get my hands on the comic drawn by the artist who created Cybersix. I really loved the way his characters flow with so much force! The thing is some panelling tend to be very jarring. For example, like there's panels within a panel in the exact same establishment shot of a scene. It is a stylistic choice, but very unnecessary.

Basically I only wanted to see the late Meglia's style. Though sometimes I marvel at it too much and I lose track of the story.

Any of you know Meglias work, this is a mush have. Yes, the artwork is cartoony but very dynamic and animated. His style is unique, original, and the script goes well with the visuals. Anyone aware of his other works like Luuna, Superman Tarzan, Canari, etc... definitely shouldn't miss this one.

Hardcore Starwars fans might not fully like this one, but Boba Fett fans, like myself, looking for bunty hunter adventures within the starwars mythos, its a good read and a good peek for those with a taste for cartoony style that feels loose and pencil work that has a swing or spontaneity.

This graphic novel was without a doubt the worst I've ever read. The storyline was just plain stupid. The art would be more fitting for a cartoon. And the dialogue was horrible.

I enjoy everything about this book the art style gives me a penny arcade feel and the story is your run of the mill diamond heist story, but it all seems to fit together. My one problem is that the bindings in my copy are already worn out and it's beginning to fall apart.

Artwork and story juvenile, in my opinion.

Maybe buy it for a fan under the age of ten but not for me.

Oh, I did learn that everyone starts their spaceship with a set of keys .

I liked this story, and it has more twists and turns than a Lethal Weapon movie. The artwork is superb, but the almost cariciature style tends to give it a comedy value. Its set in-between Han Solo - Rebel Dawn and Episode IV and brings together many favourite bounty hunting characters and you can only feel sorry for poor Greedo as his hapless attempts to make it big in the SW underworld go from bad to worse. Well done!
