An Englishman residing in Las Vegas, I am a writer of comic books and graphic novels. And a couple of films. My most noted comics work is Starman for DC Comics, currently being collected in the New York Times best selling series of six Starman Omnibuses. I now work for Marvel Comics, a tenure that began with (now collected) runs on Fantastic Four and All-New Invaders. I am currently writing Scarlet Witch and Squadron Supreme.

In my spare time I tend to waste it.

Originally a throw-away detail to mimic C-3POs silver calf in A New Hope (trust me, it is silver) to show that once again C-3PO has been through some stuff. Anthony Daniels, the actor inside C-3PO has not been quiet on how much he hated that red arm. Most of us just thought it was a way to sell another toy, "Look he looks different now."
This comic, written after the movie, gives that red arm a touching level a depth that makes it so meaningful. I will never look at that scene in the movie the same way again.

This short comic story addresses the reason that C3PO showed up in The Force Awakens with a red arm. The tale begins with a crash landing on a foreign planet that results in only the droids surviving. C3PO and several other Rebel droids find themselves responsible for guarding a droid allied with the First Order who has information desperately needed by the Rebels. 3PO and his droid allies need to find a way off the planet with their prisoner in tact.

The artwork in the book is certainly a bit different from the more standard styles used in the other Star Wars books, but as I continued to read through it I found that I liked it. Tony Harris employs some very interesting panel layouts that really add to many of the pages and make them quite unique.

Overall, this is a good, quick read. It answers the question of why C3PO had the red arm, and does so with a very poignant story about the programming and "personality" of droids in the Star Wars universe.

I am in the minority in that C-3PO is one of my favorite droids. What I specifically like is his relationship with R2-D2. He constantly complains about and insults Artoo, yet clearly cares for him and his well being. His secretly great capacity for love and friendship is what I like most about him, and it's on full display in this One-Shot. This, along with the brilliant writing, beautiful artwork, and compelling story make this comic a must read for any Star Wars fan.

Interesting, but also a little contrived and sappy. Explanation for red arm comes off a bit forced. Nice art, though.

I have been in a wheelchair without the use of my limbs. I cannot turn the pages of a comic book. I have also been having blood clots in my legs the past couple years. When I found out that the Kindle had Comic Books, I just had to buy one. I love the story of how C3PO got his red arm. It shows in life how good and bad can co-exist.

Very good story and very thoughtful too. It has the character of C3PO nailed down. Highly recommended this moving tale is all we love about the magic of Star Wars!

The artwork is very retro in style, and the storyline while simple enough was better than I expected from a one-shot about C3PO. It explains how he got his red arm which he mentions in Episode 7.

Recommended highly for fans of Star Wars comics. I got it for a buck while on sale and couldn't be happier with how it turned out

Nice story, right in the feels. Gives you the details of the arm, also perhaps some secret insight to things 3PO may have witnessed in the past.

Me ha gustado mucho este corto cómic de Star Wars. No solo es una historia sobre cómo termina con ese brazo C3PO, sino también algo más profundo sobre la amistad, la guerra y los bandos. Muy recomendable.

Cool book, will it change anything in the SW galaxy? Probably not that important at all, but a fun read none-the-less

Beautiful artwork with a great self-contained narrative that never manages to become too macabre as a result of the voice the writer provides to C-3PO, and the humour it brings. I would recommend this for anyone who is interested in Star Wars or just wants to know why C-3PO is sporting a red arm during The Force Awakens.
