I've been waiting for this for a long time!
This trade paperback did an excellent job of combining two different franchises. It fell one star short for me because it seemed to borrow from the Star Trek episode "A Private Little War" a bit too much and there wasn't enough of General Ursus or Dr. Zaius. But I always thought that William Shatner should have played Brett in "Beneath the Planet of the Apes." (though I loved James Franciscus in the role.) and the characters were spot on plus the issue even has a twist ending worthy of the first "Apes" movie and explains that the Star Trek characters were important to the continuation of the original "Apes" film series. So because of all that I say this is a great read for fans of both franchises.

Loved this, a hybrid of two of my favorite franchises! I've loved both since my childhood, and I'm almost 60 years old.

I found this to be a wonderful surprise. When I first saw it I said to myself this has got to be stupid. Boy was I wrong I was quite impressed how they blended the story into an alternate reality of the show and movie we who are fans love. I you liked the first Planet of the apes movie and the original star trek you will find this very enjoyable and wish it could have been a Star Trek episode or movie

This one really got my attention when I saw it in my recommendations since I had both Mego's Star Trek and Planet of the Apes action figures and play sets when I was a kid and often staged my own "crossovers". Set in the Prime Universe timeline, the Enterprise discovers that the Klingons are creating a rift in space. Following them through, they find themselves in yet another parallel universe, thrust ahead to the year 3079 and right in the middle of the original Planet of the Apes film. However in this case, the Klingons have decided that this universe is ripe for conquest and like in "A Private Little War", have chosen a side to arm on this strange version of Earth and it's not the humans. Does Kirk help Colonel Taylor or obey the Prime Directive and does it even apply here? That is what our heroes have to work out. On a side note, we learn how Zira and Cornelius were able to return to the 20th Century.

While this is one of the stranger officially produced crossovers I've seen, everyone seems to be in character and there's no real issues with the different universes interacting since they are separate universes.

I thought this was a goofy crossover, but the review were good so I gave it a try. A fun and enjoyable story that really pays respect to both franchises.

So, I stumbled upon this mashup of two of my favorite things, and with that great cover how could it go wrong?
Actually, it's just not that good. It has the feel of having been written on a napkin at a restaurant. If we saw the napkin, we would see several great ideas listed, which all get mentioned in this comic, and then on the back of the napkin the simple plot on which these great ideas would hang. Problem is, the simple plot is overemphasized and big philosophical questions are treated parenthetically. I'll just give one: Does the Prime Directive apply to parallel universes?
Then there's the drawing. Not a fan, I have to say. A little too rushed and cartoony, especially the treatment of Charlton Heston.
So, three stars just because, I mean, Star Trek and the Planet of the Apes? It can only be so bad...

Having been a fan of The Original Star trek and the Planet Of The Apes movies from the dawn of the 1970's I couldn't resist this crossover graphic novel. The story twisted in a couple unexpected ways, but it was great fun to revisit both series as they were before all the modern reboot attempts took over both franchises.

How did they do it? How did the creators of this great crossover story go back to 1968 and read my mind at age nine? This series is blowing me away. Since my wonder years began (45 years ago) I've been an avid Star Trek and Plant of the Apes fan. This comic book series feels like a gift! . Thank you Tipton - Tipton - Stott! May your work live long and prosper!

As a huge fan of both star trek and planet of the apes, I can tell you this comic series doesn't disappoint. It plays out exacty like an original star trek episode as well as planet of the apes movie. The story fits perfectly with the films,in a way that makes it seem like these event did occur offscreen. These two franchises world very well togather and it left me wanting to see future collaborations.
