This year, McFarlane has announced an ensemble of award-winning talent for his upcoming Spawn movie: Casting Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Jamie Foxx (Ray, Django Unchained) to play Spawn and Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner (Hurt Locker, The Town, Wind River) to play police detective "Twitch" Williams. Then his first issue for Image Comics, called Spawn, sold an unprecedented 1.7 million copies for an independent comic. Grammy-and Emmy-winning producer/director Todd McFarlane became a true comic book superstar from his work on Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man franchise.

He co-founded Image Comics, now the third largest comic publisher, and launched his own comic title, Spawn. The comic became an Emmy Award-winning animated series on HBO and a feature film from that grossed more than $100 million.

McFarlane founded the international award-winning McFarlane Toys – now one of America’s top action figure manufacturer. A whirlwind of growth and expansion in McFarlane’s companies followed: more comics, action figures, and award-winning entertainment projects.

In February 2017, the BBC announced a new TV Series “Sam and Twitch”, based on Todd McFarlane’s Spawn Comic Characters, and it’s attached to producer, director, writer Kevin Smith. McFarlane will serve as the executive producer.

Ich werde an dieser Stelle nicht den Inhalt des Buches bewerten, da diese doch sehr stark Geschmacksache ist.
Die Verarbeitung des Buches finde ich sehr gut. Da es nicht zu viele Seiten hat, kann man er gut in der Hand halten und lesen, was abnderen Dicken Comicbänden immer wieder schwieirig ist. Alle Bücher der Spawn Origins books sind da einfach handlich und praktisch. Die Bindung finde ich ebenfalls gut. Sie keinem meiner Bände Probleme gemacht. Die Bilder wirken manchmal etwas vergrößert, was glaube ich durch das vergrößerte Format kommt. Dies störte mich nicht, viel mir aber auf. Der Einband ist schön Dick und durch das Weiß sieht man Druckstellen und Kratzer, die sich im Alltag einstellen nicht so schnell. Auch wirkt er auf mich recht widerstandsfähig. Ich habe die Bücher immer wieder mit zur Nachschicht genommen und sie habe darunter nicht gelitten. Interessant erscheint mir auch, das sie in Folie eingepackt sind, wenn sei geliefert werden. Dadurch kann auch Amazon die Bücher gut versenden, ohne das sie beschädigt ankommen, weil sie dann eine extra Rutschschutzschicht haben. Dadurch leiden sie beim Transport nicht, wenn sie in zu großen Paketen versendet werden in denen sie sich bewegen können.
