Shade, the Changing Girl (2016-2017) Vol. 2: Little Runaway Kindle & comiXology
From the shadowy streets of Gotham City to the atom-blasted sands of Los Alamos to the star-studded hills of Hollywood, Shade's on a quest to discover her own American dream—even if that means using the power of madness to make it a reality. And at the center of that vision is the galaxy's favorite TV show, LIFE WITH HONEY—an Atomic Age comedy whose fading star is about to take on the role of several lifetimes!
From writer Cecil Castellucci and artists Marley Zarcone, Ande Parks and Marguerite Sauvage, SHADE, THE CHANGING GIRL VOL. 2: LITTLE RUNAWAY collects issues #7-12.

The ending for the story was nice, I hope we see more of shade in the dc universe

There's a boy, Shade's neighbor, River, who goes from a sort of shlubby nerd into chicks, to a bisexual diva. There's no hints at this kind of personality, shown through his style & choices, in the first book, but when it comes time to go to a school dance, what seems like some months later, he's quite into boys & is wearing a kilt - something else that's wholly out of character, based on the first trade.
The first trade builds a world, sets stakes, introduces & highlights characters' relationships with each other, & generally explores the Megan Boyer-Loma Shade push/pull. The second decimates its own story & setup in the first chapter/issue. An arc was built - quite well, for what this DC imprint seems to actually be; & the second trade just eschewed all of the interpersonal setup & story to have a 90° change. There's actually a great opening to this new trade, in how Loma Shade's history is explored as a means of creating & cementing new relationships, & expounding upon the character; but the growth &, more importantly, the arc is diminished, as the writers choose to go back on all of the change & forward momentum in the first trade.
This isn't solely a SHADE problem - this is the general attitude toward all of the books in this line. I'm curious to see if thi is something addressed in MILK WARS & the subsequent final books of each line, or if this is just the quality of modern books, as a whole.
Fun, "quirky" art, an interesting premise with lackluster follow-thru.
3/5.
