Great premise: the entire Batman Family is finally killed, Gotham is such a blight without the Bats to counter its (inherent?) evil that the JLA needs to replace the Bats - but it turns out Wonder Woman is quite enough, without the rest of the League. And she's not standing for any further chances for Gotham's criminals, criminally insane, or power mad. At some point, the writer (Simone at her most passionate) is going to have to turn her against the people who have enabled these monsters for so long - and we don't know who Diana may blame.

It's about time, and it's off to a great start! #1 combines my love of Bats and Wondy when Diana battles Gotham's Rogues Gallery. It's so great to read Simone's Oracle and WW again: Babs with her fierce wit and Diana with her witty fierceness. The art is excellent as well. It's a really fun, dynamic first half of a single (print) issue story, and I look forward to the second half. Recommend if you miss pre-New52 Oracle!Babs and classic WW or just enjoy a fun one-shot in Batman's world.

The copy purchased was new but when I received the item there was some wear on the edges

This first digital issue is lacking in substance and story. Gail Simone writes very well for Batgirl but only ok for this wonder woman story. Wonder Woman is called in by Oracle to deal with a bunch of Batman foes. The art is good except that the villains look cartoon like. Ends with an amazon force coming to Gotham to aid Wonder Woman. Part two concludes the story next week. The print edition also on sale next week. The anthology format makes this series a hit or miss property as each tale can take place in different versions of the character. Note that this story is set in pre-New 52 continuity.

Didn't like this "comic book" as it was way too short. If this is the present incarnation of comic books, I'm glad I stopped collecting them years ago. Not a good way to spend a dollar...
