Drawing has been an activity for Scott since childhood, seeming less of a choice and more an innate habit. His earliest drawings were pictures to stories. Scott would continue this habit throughout childhood, adolescence and into adulthood, with the help of family, friends and a few exceptional teachers from high school and university. After graduating from the School of Fine Art at the University of Manitoba, Scott worked in the comic industry, learning to colour comic books and working on a few illustration projects, all the while playing, experimenting and refining his storytelling skills on his own fantasy series, "The Chronicles of Era".

Scott first teamed up with David Robertson for the graphic novel, "7 Generations", followed by the residential school survivor story, "Sugar Falls". Since working with David, Scott has continued to work on a variety of graphic novels and other illustration projects, dealing with diverse subjects, ranging from historical fiction to dealing with difficult issues like pregnancy and alcohol, and human trafficking to fantastic worlds of myth, fantasy and science fiction.

In November 2014, Scott printed the first three chapters of The Chronicles of Era, with the help of a successful Indiegogo campaign.
