Another great volume of this series. Wanda continues her worldwide tour of magic and those who wield it. This time around she goes to Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and back to NYC for some yoga and familial infighting. Not to spoil anything, but her spat with Quicksilver is awesome, and its clear that Robinson did his homework as to how unhealthy their relationship can be. Also I truly respect Robinson for refusing to participate in Civil War 2 with Wanda as a mouthpiece. The therapy scene is also really nice, seeing Wanda using a villain as much as he thinks hes using her is kind of hilarious. The art is really nice as well, although the New York issue is a lot less stylized than the other issues, although its just as pretty in a more classic comic art sense.

I'm loving this series, I don't want it to end. The different artists work and story are fantastic. The art changing with the geographical locations is cool. I'm looking into more James Robinson work.

The second installment into the current story of The Scarlet Witch aka Wanda Maximoff. Wanda is still searching for reasons for why magic is broken. Her search takes her to France and it’s local superhero.

Although the art changes throughout each book in the graphic novel it does not really take away from the story. The most emotional story in this volume is the conversation between Wanda and her brother Pietro aka Quicksilver. I loved their interaction with each other.

What does break the flow of the story is how much time seems to have passed between each book. In fact the last story in volume 2 kinda threw me because Wanda is not in it but we read about a character she met in the second to last story.

For someone like me who has not read any of the previous story arc of Marvel, like Civil War or House of M. I feel I am missing some important story lines but it doesn’t stop me from enjoying this series. It only makes we want to go back and read the previous tales.

Awesome!

The “Scarlet Witch” series continues in “World of Witchcraft” and the comics in this collection are far better on character development than offering exciting plots. Simply put, this is not a good jumping on point though James Robinson does offer an interesting take on the main character. There are some solid moments to be sure but a lot of this book involves heavy conversations even as our heroine travels across the world to grapple with the strange collapse of magic in the Marvel Universe. There are some nice spots from guest stars, ranging from the Wu to Le Peregrine to Quicksilver in a tie in to “Civil War II” but the main plot seems a little bogged down. The art team constantly switches out in the comics in this book and, while most of the teams do a find job, some readers might prefer a little consistency on this front. While not a bad collection of comics, this book isn’t exactly memorable. I would offer 3.25 stars if possible but will also warn that readers might be lost if they haven’t read the first volume.

Scarlett Witch deals with a new threat in each of these stand alone issues while bemoaning that she should be looking into her real mother. Most of the issues consist of 2 people talking for each issue are very introspective. Outside of the Civil War II tie-in where she finally has it out with her brother, Pietro, I didn't find the issues very entertaining. I take that back, I did like The Wu. In fact I found her more interesting than Wanda. I liked how they had a different female creative team on each issue. If you like to read comics about conversations, this is the book for you.

Mainly read this series for completeness. OK, but not a series I,d read again anytime soon - and this is probably my least favourite of the books in the 3 book series.
