Top review from the United States

When this plotline was first released it was a big deal for Marvel Comics (Timely Comics at the time). I'm not exactly sure I'm completely accurate with these details but I'll do my best. Namor and the Human Torch were two of Marvel's (Timely's) biggest characters back in the early 1940's. Both had successful solo series detailing their adventures that were from what I remember very popular. It was uncommon back then to have direct crossovers between titles but they did it anyway bringing Namor and the Torch into conflict. It is this story that Roy Thomas retells in this series nearly fifty years later. This is an important part of the Sub-Mariner's character and Thomas gets it all down with the same incredible flare of previous issues. I don't know over how many issues this originaly played out but even though it feels less fluid than previous issues it's still a fine accomplishment. Rich Buckler gets the chance to play with a new character with his art and I love the way he portrays the Torch in action. As an aside, Thomas really makes the comic better with his short yet brilliant explanation of the Human Torch's origin. This comic was great but I can't wait for what's next. Invaders unite!
