The tale of Penny is gripping. I've found myself hooked, glued to my screen, hanging off of every word. The author has a way of introducing new characters that makes me so curious about what will happen, I'm now willing to bribe him for new issues. I'm so impressed with the artwork and the depth and detail that this comic has. He draws from different perspectives. The scenes in this and the angles he chooses to draw from are so incredible! I would definitely recommend this comic for fans of Revival and Morning Glories. I'm very excited to see where this goes.

The cover art for Penny Palabras, episode 1, caught my attention, and I was immediately hooked. The Straw Man, The Tiger Devil, and Ghosts, oh my, poor Penny is living a true existential nightmare. Willard, and Beavers, offer a refreshing take on darker aesthetics. I'll take the next one NOW, please.

James B Willard continues to wow with his Penny Palabras story. And Patrick K Beavers' artwork is still phenomenal.

The Straw man is getting more agressive, more dangerous; Penny's nightmares are getting worse.

Truly these stories are without a doubt wonderfully suspenseful and end in beautiful cliffhangers that leave you feeling like a crack addict wanting next month's episode to arrive so you can get your next fix.

To be perfectly honest, I've yet to get my head wrapped around just what in Hell is going on, but I believe this to be a very good thing -- in a suspense/thriller/horror themed story you want to be feeling like "WTF?! My brain is leaking out of my ears! What's going on!?" I mean, isn't that the major appeal of H P Lovecraft's works?

Worth a read, worth a buy. Even if you're not a big fan of horror/thriller type stories, you might give this one a go. If you don't like them because of nightmares issues, you might give it a miss, though; the writer does too good a job for the easily sleepless.

Adventure with 17 year old Penny continues in The Devil's Weight, where the story gets a tragic twist. Penny still tries to get rid of the Straw Man who seems to chase her and cut her off from other people. Seriously, I would like to know what is the reason behind this malevolent entity stalking and tormenting 17 year old girl. There has to be a reason, or not?

I still like the artwork and the oppressive atmosphere it adds to the story.

However, this monster seems to get angrier, and I would like to know, what is going to happen next.

The graphics are so appealing to the eye, like a well-tailored suit. But how could you go wrong with an awesome story like this? Seriously. I am totally into this series. And if you like it, you need to look into the artists’ other work. I have three of the author’s paintings and own several albums by Brokenkites and The Starfirefive.
