Beginning with Volume 10 of this charming romantic comedy series, music students Shinichi Chiaki and Megumi Noda (aka "Nodame") have come to Paris to further their music education. Chiaki gets to conduct professionally and Nodame gets to further hone her wild piano talent. They also grow closer to one another, particularly since Nodame's feelings for Chiaki are no longer one sided.
In this volume, while Chiaki prepares his new orchestra for their professional debut with new members, Nodame helps out in her usual quirky way between classes with creative marketing, regenerative hugs, and silent support from the balcony. Their neighbors get into the act as well. Some time is spent getting to know the members the orchestra including new arrivals.
Unfortunately where this volume ends is rather bittersweet as this is the last legitimately translated volume available in English. Del Rey Manga published these 16 volumes before shuttering their doors to make room for the Kondansha Comics US branch. A handful of the Del Rey licenses continue but as of Fall 2012 this isn't one of them. I believe 9 volumes remain. For the completionist this volume is essential. For the casual fan think of this volume as one last hurrah for our lead couple and more lessons in musical history. You don't have to be a fan of classical music to enjoy this.
