Amazing story, but the artwork is horrendous. Just one example, look at Captain Marvels face.

As always, Hickman does an amazing job continuing the incursion storyline. This volume is basically a lot of setup for the future volumes, but it is still enjoyable. The art in this series continues to be great.

This story has been fantastic. I was never super into the Avengers really but this title has been eye opening. It's full of moral dilemma and is kind of dark. There's even a little dark humor sprinkled in there. This review is applicable to volumes 1 and 2 as well. Namor is a much more interesting character than i'd given credit for in the past.

I thought it was a good read. If you're a fan of Hickman at all you will enjoy this volume of comics. The story is intriguing and at first I thought it was drawn out but I couldn't really put it down though. So he kept drawing me back in and I will probably purchase the succession volumes also.

Jonathan Hickman is onto something here, and I highly recommend reading the entire new avengers run through volume 4. Then, jump on with the "time runs out" story that runs through new avengers and avengers. You won't be disappointed!

The third volume of Hickman's New Avengers series (which really should have been titled Illuminati) is probably the weakest of the three, not counting the second volume which is all Infinity tie in chapters. That volume should frankly just be skipped entirely in favor of just reading the Infinity collected edition as either a Kindle book or in print. This volume mostly sees the Illuminati observing other Earths that are caught in the incursion loop by constructing a type of portal device through which to spy on the rest of the multiverse. The book does answer a few more questions about the Black Swan and her role in the cycle of incursions (definitely answering as well whether or not she is a friend or foe). Hickman also fleshes out the Black Priests and Mapmakers a bit more: two villainous organizations that have taken advantage of the incursion crisis to invade and destroy other Earths for their own ends. That all said, this book is mostly just various "what if" scenarios that Hickman uses to flesh out the incursion story line a bit more. All in all, the book is worth a read for fans of the series or anyone keeping up with the larger incursion story line, especially as the final "what if" scenario in the volume introduces the Great Society: a group of heroes clearly meant to riff on DC's Justice League and set up as the next Earth that may collide with the main Marvel-616 Earth. Other than that this volume kind of feels a bit like filler.

Down down down the hole we go, with the road to hell paved with good intentions

Another amazing volume where the cracks within the illuminati continue to mount and the stakes seem only to get ever higher

Die Frage der Moral angesichts der totalen Vernichtung. Helden im Zweifel darüber ob sie Ihrem Gewissen folgen und Sterben oder morden und alles woran sie glaubten aufgeben um zu überleben! Packend und spannend

A remarkable volume of this brilliant story introducing another very unique Justice League analogue to the story.

4.0 out of 5 stars better than the Avengers

I find new Avengers a much better and intriguing book than the avengers, The illuminatis are badass, and the story kind of reminds me of Crisis Stories from DC, but you see it in an Avengers book and you enjoy it that much more.
