The ongoing story continues to be amazing. It is a satisfying read because as many of the mysteries are deepening, we are also finally getting some answers as to who people are and what is happening at Morning Glory Academy. Every single time I've picked up one of these trades to read for the first time, I've had to go back and read through almost all of the previous volumes, so, if only to save time, I've decided to start reading this comic issue by issue every month. I just don't think I can find time to read all of the volumes over again anymore, as we have now completed Season One of Morning Glories. This will be the first comic I have purchased monthly since my childhood.

The re-introduction of the Truants (who we met briefly in the very first issue of Morning Glories) is interesting because of how seemingly late in the story they have arrived. The strange thing about them is that even though we are already in Volume 4 when they are more fully introduced, it is clear that they play a crucial part in the endgame of the overall mythology. It is as if they have been here all along (because they have).

I'll keep my review pretty short and simple, if you're reading Morning Glories already, pick this up! It's the same greatness you expect from this series. Where you get a few answers to some aspects to whet your appetite but those answers only lead to more questions. And if you haven't read any before, go to vol 1 and start there! You won't regret it. (Especially if you're a fan of shows like Lost, this will be right up your alley. I've personally only seen a handful of Lost episodes but my two friends I have given this to read who were both big Lost fans absolutely loved it!)

First things first: No, you won't find "answers" here. It's clear that the real answers are still a long way to go (at least 100 issues, according to Nick Spencer). In fact i'm quite sure that at this point we would just have to admit that the school is just what it is, a weird school protecting some weird things that can never be explained. We are simply here to witness the characters go through their experience and hopefully got some sort of closure.

That said, it's still a thrilling ride. We got clearer backgrounds on most of the characters (even though they introduced EVEN MORE mysterious ones), just enough so that we'd care more about them. By this point in story you should be informed enough whether you want to go on reading or just stop altogether. Me? I'm in.

I absolutely love this series. I generally don't like narratives that go back and forth in time, but it works here. I really enjoyed the new additions to the story, especially Irina (even though I'm pretty sure she isn't a good guy). The way Spencer keeps you questioning good vs. evil throughout the comics is exceptional. My only complaint about this volume was that Ike is a major focus and he's probably my least favorite character, but I understand that he's important to the series.

Morning Glories is a lot like the TV show Lost. It centers around three kids that are trapped at a Prep. School, which for all purposes could be an island. There's an evil or mad organization with their own creepy agenda. Some other group trying to infiltrate it and some supernatural thing too.

Books one to three really kept me hooked, will they escape and what is really going on?

Book four was good, Lot more back story of the people running the school.

The stage has been well set with this book. I just hope they warp it up soon.

This is the conclusion of "Season 1" of Morning Glories.
And it is AWESOME!

Some questions are answered while the unanswered ones became more intriguing. Plus new questions that have left me feeling the need to run to a comic book store and buy the individual issues. But comics are way too expensive these days so I'll just have to be patient.

Who am I kidding?
I'm hitting a comic shop TONIGHT!

The continuation of the series is just as good as it's been so far. Great introduction to some new characters, a nice twist to the story, and a mild cliffhanger ending to #25 will leave you wanting for more. Can't wait for the next chapter!

I got exactly what I expected in a timely manor. This is a great series! It stinks that I can't sit and read it though!

4.0 out of 5 stars Das Ende von Staffel 1...
Reviewed in Germany on August 8, 2013
