1936. In the midst of a Europe which has been at peace for 75 years, a new city ermerges unlike any other in the world: Metropolis, the capital of excess and urban delirium. It is the focal point of numerous political movements and artistic trends as well as the nerve center for various forms of espionage and other underhanded activities. The citizens of Metropolis speak of nothing else but the horrible crimes plaguing the poorest parts of the city. To solve these crimes, the police have called upon an Austrian doctor, the inventor of a little-known field of science involving the treatment of the mind: a certain Doctor Freud.
