Lucifer (2015-2017) Vol. 1: Cold Heaven Kindle & comiXology

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 358 ratings

The #1 NEW YORK TIMES best-selling author of THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES Holly Black picks up the thread from legendary creators Neil Gaiman, Mike Carey, and Peter Gross, as she and artist Lee Garbett resurrect an iconic VERTIGO antihero in LUCIFER VOL. 1: COLD HEAVEN.

SPEAK OF THE DEVIL

Once he was the Morningstar, first and most beautiful of the heavenly host. Then he ruled over Hell, until he gave up his kingdom to pursue his absent Father. Finally, after tracking down and confronting the Alpha and Omega, he left our universe behind—apparently forever.

But now Lucifer is back—wounded and weakened, but suave and savvy as ever. And he's about to be handed the biggest mystery in the history of Creation: God has been found dead, and the Lightbringer is the prime suspect in His murder.

To clear his name and reclaim his throne, Lucifer must solve the Deicide himself. But even with help from the disgraced archangel Gabriel, the task is daunting. To maintain the status quo in both Heaven and Hell, angels and demons alike are determined to pin the crime upon the First of the Fallen—but it will be a cold day in either realm before the Devil fails to get his due.

Collects issues #1-6 of LUCIFER, the new ongoing series.

Great story arc, and awesome guest stars as the realm of Dream and some "regulars" from Sandman like Mathew the crow..Cain and Able and others make cameos which ACTUALLY fully advance the plot!

There is everything under the sun thrown at you, and then some.....from amnesia to murder, sex and violence, greed and sacrifice for even the protagonist doesn't reveal what he knows to his assistant Gabriel (shortfalls archangel)..... Until the big reveal.

Really enjoyable and genuine mystery!

I was introduced to lucifer late in the game so this is only the second series of it that I picked up but very well written and keeps the readers interest.

Seriously, I'll probably have to go through the book a second time just to fully appreciate the quality of the illustration. Beautiful work and a compelling story.

What happened to the girl in the closet?

Where did this couple in the end come into play?

Why wasn't the arch angel Gabriel allowed to have pants on? I mean, he did ask for them 🤣🤣

I tried to follow this one, but I’m lost.

This is my first graphic novel in 15 years, though. The pictures are hard for me to follow, not just this one. In graphic novels in general.

I also wanted Gabrial to be given pants he looked so pitiful 🤣🤣

Fun fun fun, especially the end story! I really enjoyed how fast the story catches your attention and manages to keep it the entire time.

Wonderful comic! Never enjoyed a graphic novel more than I did this one, I started this on a day when I was sick in bed and it has made my day a lot better.
