Lord Byron was a British poet, politician, and aristocrat. A leading figure of the Romantic movement, his most famous works include the narrative poems Don Juan and Childe Harold's Pilgrimage, and the short lyric poem, "She Walks in Beauty".

In his day, Lord Byron was just as famous for his massive debts, hedonistic excesses, and scandalous sexual affairs as he was for his writing. Still, he is often argued as one of the greatest poets in English-language verse.
