DC Comics never ceases to bring the best of the best, it brings back good memories of my childhood, reading the comics. I would recommend this book for all young people to read...

Justice League Of America: Sanctuary is the fourth volume in this series, but it is not necessary to have read the previous volumes to make sense of this one. Though I suspect that it will make the story flow better if you have read the first three volumes, McDuffie and Burnett managed to make this one self-contained story with no prior knowledge.

The super-villains are trying to escape the country as they believe that they are all in danger. Unfortunately from them, Black Lightning stops them from leaving the country. Black Lightning brings this intel back to the Justice League, and whilst they are discussing this in the Hall Of Justice, the super-villains break into the Hall Of Justice to ask for diplomatic immunity.

With all these super-villains believing that they are in danger, the Justice League get suspicious of Amanda Waller when she demands that these super-villains are released to her. The Justice League decide to investigate the planet that Amanda Waller is sending these villains to before handing them over to her, and what follows is intriguing and does not go as you would suspect.

I was impressed with the artwork in this volume. With so many superheroes and super-villains, it would have been easy for the panels to become crowded and clustered but Benes and Van Sciver managed to pull it off. Not only did they manage to get this character balance down they also managed to get the colour palette working. Also, none of the facial expressions seemed to be odd, which I tend to notice more in these large ensemble casts.

A well-written story that most will enjoy.
