Now more than 35 years old, the first issue of “Infinity Inc.” probably appeals more to longtime fans than new readers. Roy Thomas is always a joy to read and Jerry Ordway is a consistently strong leader of the art team. Still, many new readers will be lost, especially as DC has put most of the characters and Earth 2 setting on the shelves during most of the past three and a half decades. This first issue features a host of young characters barge into a JSA meeting as they want to apply to the team and promptly tell each other their origin stories. Simply put this issue does not hold up by itself and is not exactly a compelling lead for new readers. But readers willing to invest the time into this comic will be well rewarded. I’d offer 3.25 stars if possible which rounds down.
