The Wild Hunt is an almost direct continuation of the story that was set up at the end of Darkness Calls. The continuity in these later volumes has been refreshing, and there are plenty of tie-ins with earlier stories as well. In fact, judging by the end of this volume, the story will be continuing in the next (or at least at some point in these next few). Gruagach's plan to unleash the Queen of Blood is realized as Nimue (the betrayer of Merlin and now self-proclaimed Goddess of War) is summoned forth; much to the dismay of witches who scorned her.
The story begins innocently enough, as Hellboy is invited by the Wild Hunt to deal with six giants who have arisen from their graves in England. The story escalates rather quickly from there however, as Hellboy stories are wont to do. We are treated to some pretty major reveals about Hellboy's lineage, which I won't reveal here, and based on how things left off we are in for an exciting ride before these twelve volumes are through. I will say this; Nimue is not yet dealt with.
Finishing a particularly good Hellboy book always leaves me reflecting. I love these nebulous realms that he always seems to find himself in; where things shift and change, and distance doesn't mean much. When one thinks of Hellboy the first things that spring to mind are often.. demons, I suppose. The occult. Lovecraft. Witches, trolls, and all manner of horrific folkore. But so too is Hellboy full of the magical, the fantastic, and the mythic. And it is all presented with such a casual air. As if it is all second nature to Mike Mignola to create these stories. Perhaps it is.

The book itself despite the sticker that said brand new on it looks as if someone has been reading it. The cover has scuff marks as if it was dragged across stuff, the bottom left looks crushed, and the spine has crease marks as if it was opened and read. From what I can tell all pages are in the book (but haven't started reading it yet)
Over all if a Hellboy fan and looking to complete your collection I'd say pick it up
