From the New World Vol. 4 Kindle & comiXology
Now twenty-six, Saki and Satoru seem to be well-adjusted adults. While they’ve never forgotten the cruel fates of their childhood friends, reforming the town’s severe ways has been beyond them. Change has a way, however, of crashing in. And in this case, at a time when those within the rope are celebrating their summer festival, change is going to rain on them violently!

I am really glad that I decided to continue this series, it just seems to be getting better and better. There does some to be quite a bit of fan service, mostly yuri.

From the New World is an intricate story that constantly builds on and refers to previous events. On top of that the series takes a new direction in this volume directly dependent on several ongoing plot threads. Don't start here - read from the beginning.
After the big reveals and changes of last volume the series continues in an interesting and unexpected direction. Saki struggles to deal with the reality of their situation, while a dangerous oversight from the past gives new enemies terrifying strength. And they might be an even greater threat lurking in the background.
I wasn't expecting the change in direction the story takes, but it fits and things come together perfectly in the most intense and harrowing volume yet. The secrets of the town are weighing heavily on our protagonists, and there are several little indications that this can't be the best solution. Everything from simple statements made by the elders in passing, to the village's reaction to danger, to Saki's own moral dilemmas magnify the atmosphere of unease and impending danger that permeates this manga.
A big chunk of this volume unfolds as a battle of move and counter-move against a brilliantly lethal foe, with important bits of information and foreshadowing woven in seamlessly throughout. It's as riveting as it is unnerving and gruesome. Near the end as things give way to something that (in retrospect) has been hinted at since the very beginning of the series the tension and suspense created is unbelievable.
I have no idea where this is all going but can't wait to find out. For anyone who can deal with the graphic nature of the series (both in sex and violence) and the occasional feeling that some details are being skimmed over a bit From the New World is fast becoming a must-read.

One of the best series I've ever read!

One of the best series I've ever read! It would be amazing if someone also published the original novel from Yusuke Kishi, 'cause I would definitely buy it!
If you don't actually know the series, give it a try: a dystopian world in which something like telekinesis and mind-manipulation exists, in which monsters and humans are not so different and far away from each other – a world in which you would definitely fall without realizing it!
(Give it a try also with the anime, because it's really beautiful and well done!)
