7.5/10I wasn't sure whether to buy this volume in the series, as a priori I thought it was an interruption. However, I'm glad I did because once I read this volume, all the characters in the saga make sense. This is a flashback in time for each of the main characters, in separate chapters, and also a multi-time flashback for each of them, so we get to see and know from where they are coming from. To me that's was the right thing to do to give soul to the the story soul and psychological depth to the characters. Even the annoying Driller the Killer makes sense once we read the chapter devoted to it in this volume. If you are reading or intend to read the whole series, this is a must.I am always mesmerised by Nguyen masterly drawing and water-colouring. It's a total delight to see each of his vignettes, no matter what he's painting: faces, landscapes, outaspaces, details, anything, although some of the images I felt were drawn or an homage to classics films of science fiction. Overall, a very enjoyable volume. And I loved the story between Effie and Andy.I love the lettering used in this series. Very creative and audible, if that can be said. The Kindle rendering of the book is excellent, with awesome quality details. Double tapping individuate vignettes and allows to swipe between them effortlessly; however, some of them do not automatically seize to the preferable reading size when there are vignettes with small lettering, but pitching out each vignette solves the problem.

One of the most imaginative and touching science fiction graphic novels around. Dustin Nguyen's watercolor art is magnificent and Jeff Lemire's story is a pageturner. Get all 6 volumes.

I don't understand the bad reviews. Just as good as the first 2 TP, the writing and art continue to be dope. I like the approach of giving each character their own issue to go over their back story, it really fleshes out the world building.

Solid addition to the series. I think the secondary characters are shaping up to be as intriguing as the main characters.

absolutely love Descender. it is perfect and every time I dive back into this world it is just great, the story is amazing and the art is (no pun intended) out of this world.

Great 3rd volume. This one backs up and each issue in the volume fills in the back story of a character.

Ce livre a une couverture souple et est plus petit que les tomes 1 et 2. Je me suis fait avoir. Ce qui est désagréable c'est qu'il soit à peu près au même prix que les autres volumes alors qu'il est de moindre qualité.
