Dean's childhood in rural Pennsylvania was unbearably boring until he discovered his older brother's stash of '70s horror comics. Inspired by Al Williamson, Gene Colan and Berni Wrightson, he vowed to one day work in the funny book business. After escaping college with a degree in Painting, he got his first professional work drawing the horror comic Trailer Park of Terror. He survives today as a freelance artist and has worked for numerous publishers, most notably Boom! Studios, Image, Zenescope, and Ape Entertainment. If he ever gets a moment of free time he plans to pour himself a glass of Carmenere and finally finish reading The Innocents Abroad.
