Cursed Land is heavily based on the Amityville Horror crime and legend, so how much you like this might depend on how much you liked that. That said, I love a good haunted house story, so I ate this one up. I also loved the art in the first two segments and thought it fit the story perfectly. Unfortunately, a different artist illustrated Part 3, the concluding segment, and the difference was jarring. The new art wasn't bad, but I didn't like it nearly as much as the original illustrations, and it dampened the impact of the finale somewhat. The ending also felt a bit rushed, but that could be just me, as I find myself feeling that way about comics quite often.
My copy of Cursed Land also included the additional story, Night Screams for Mercy, a giallo-inspired tale. I love gialli as much as love haunted house stories, so this was a neat treat for me. The rich colors of the art fit the story perfectly. While the solution to the mystery was a little out there (and also somehow predictable), if you're a giallo fan, you'll know that's pretty par for the course, so it was actually quite fitting.
I definitely recommend this two for one deal. Both stories are entertaining, fast reads. I only wish the art for Cursed Land's finale had held up with all the rest of it.

Amityville Horror meets The Conjuring. Our story starts on 1976, when Ronald Mitchell shoots his girlfriend and girlfriend's parents and sister to death in Edgewater, Maryland. Ronald seems like he is possessed and no motive to the murders are found. Later in the same week, five-year-old Tom Hall is watching the news at home concerning the Edgewater murders before his mother notices and takes him away from the TV. Thirty years later, Tom and his newlywed fiancée, Anna, find themselves moving into the same house. They are aware of the house's gruesome past, but Anna convinces Tom that moving there is a good idea, as they would never again find a house like that with such a low price. And thus the stage is set for the tragic events that are about to unfold.

A decent enough horror anthology

The first story is a rip off of the Amityville Horror. The art on the first half is beautiful. For some reason the art changes on the second half. It's still good but not up to the first half. There is a second serial killer story. Not wholly original similar to one of the giallo films from europe. Art is minor on this one.
