Challenger Deep Kindle & comiXology
Experience the tongue-in-cheek action adventure sensation that Newsarama called "some of the wittiest comic dialog ?in a long time." He's Alex Martin, the down-on-his-luck actor whose star is rising thanks to a roadside rescue caught on tape. She's Rachel Dodd, the bodyguard assigned to keep him alive after several mysterious attempts on his life. Will Rachel be able to keep Alex alive long enough to get to the bottom of the attacks on the actor? Will Alex be able to keep his hair perfect the entire time? Andrew Cosby (SyFy's Eureka, X Isle) and Kevin Church (Cthulhu Tales, What Were They Thinking?!?) team up with artists Mateus Santolouco, R.M. Yankovicz and others to tell the story of two people that are trying to stay alive now, if only to kill each other later. Collecting all five issues.

How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Report
I'm a bit of a sucker for underwater thrillers (I love the Abyss, for example), and Challenger Deep fits the bill. The story of a sub marooned in the Mariana Trench (Challenger Deep, the deepest point in the world) is a good premise, and this graphic novel mostly delivers. The art is moody and convincing, and fits the tone of the story. The story itself is pretty predictable, and many of the character types will be instantly recognizable to fans of action films and comics: the grizzled diver getting over a lost love, the loyal team who has stood besides him, the evil military-industrial complex, etc. All of the stereotypes are there, and that's why this story left me a bit unsatisfied- it could have been much more original. As it is, it will feel familiar and fun, but not terribly innovative.
