About the Author

Gosho Aoyama made his debut in 1992 with Chotto Matte (Wait a Minute), which won Shogakukan's prestigious Shinjin Comic Taisho (Newcomer's Award for Comics) and launched his career as a critically acclaimed, top-selling manga artist. In addition to Detective Conan, which won the Shogakukan Manga Award in 2001, Aoyama created the popular manga Yaiba, which won the Shogakukan Manga Award in 1992. Aoyama's manga is greatly influenced by his boyhood love for mystery, adventure and baseball, and he has cited the tales of Arsene Lupin and Sherlock Holmes and the samurai films of Akira Kurosawa as some of his childhood favorites.

We don't have alot of Conan merch here but this is the next best thing. You get to read your favorite chapters and support the franchise.

The manga took about 3 weeks to be delivered because it needs to be imported. If you'd like it cheaper I'd suggest to get it directly from bookswagon who are the seller and you get to track it. I'm definitely going to buy from them again.

As for the manga, it's really great. The book is a bit shorter than I imagined but it's really good, I've read it a bit and the paper is really different after coming from reading it digitally for more than 10 years. Getting used to the names might be an adjustment too, but it's still really amazing!

A definite must by for any Conan fan. Can't wait for the next big arc to be translated

セリフなどの英語のレベルもそこまで高くはないので
中学生でも関心のある生徒はスラスラ読み進められるもので

作品名をはじめ登場人物名などが日本版と異なることや
セリフの翻訳・解釈に文化的な違いが反映されていることなど
細かい点に気づく生徒もいて、ここから日本との相違についても
関心を持ってもらえれば指導側としては幸いです

学校であっても塾や家庭教師であっても
日本の漫画作品が世界でポピュラーな事実を考えると
いち語学教師としては、是非各所でこれからは指導用の題材として
取り入れてほしいと考えます、先生方、どうでしょうか
