I’m Really Loving this series! It’s action packed, none of the dialogue is wasted, its on point and humorous. There are even so amazing special cameos from all over the MCU. Once again, I highly Recommend!!!

Volume 1 started off strong, but volume 2 takes it up a notch – as evident by the cover. I absolutely love the image of Black Widow sitting on The Punisher logo. The inside follows through in a big way by bringing in not only Frank Castle, but Bucky Barnes as well. Three of Marvel’s morally murky characters together.

Natasha exists in a gray area. This is quickly made apparent in the opening mission by a visit from Daredevil (who practically exemplifies righteousness) who disapproves of her tactics. This sets the tone for the volume as she uses increasingly strong armed methods to get information. Though Natasha is highly skilled, she doesn’t have superpowers. The writer doesn’t skirt this issue and so when Natasha gets in a little over her head, she doesn’t refuse help. First from Winter Soldier and then later from Punisher. The missions get increasingly dangerous, the fights more brutal and the gray areas even murkier. Natasha’s loyalty and place in the world is called into question by her teams, and by her.

The volume closes on a bang (literally) that sets up the magnitude of Chaos and sets the stage for Last Days.

Black Widow is still an entertaining read. This volume contains a few missions, some of which are tied to the Chaos organization that was introduced previously. If for some reason you haven't read volume 1 yet, go ahead and buy both volumes. They are really fast-paced and fun.

My only complaint is that several other superheroes make appearances, which makes this feel less like a standalone series. True, she's an Avenger, but I particularly like the stories where she's on her own (like what Matt Fraction did in Hawkeye, Vol. 1: My Life as a Weapon). Black Widow is a great character who doesn't need guest appearances to make her stories relevant or fun.

This is a great series, every panel is gorgeous and I love the water color style. The artists present Natasha as a distinctive character and while she is a beautiful woman they make her look shapeless under gear and draw her in action poses that aren't ridiculously erotic. If there's anyone who would object to being drawn like a supermodel contortionist in skintight spandex, it's the Black Widow. Instead there are scenes where she is not at all sexy while brushing her teeth or grimacing from the pain of battle wounds- this is an odd thing to celebrate I know- but when every poster of ScarJo for the Avengers has her looking over her shoulder so you can see sideboob then a nonsexualized depiction of women is very gratifying. In addition the cast for this volume is fantastic. I love James and Natasha together, they are such great companions for each other considering their Cold War back stories and I hope they reunite in future issues. Personally, I plan on buying every issue they plan on making in this series, it's my favorite project Marvel is producing right now.

This is one of my favorite single-title books of the whole Marvel universe right now. This book feels more like an international espionage thriller than a comic which is really refreshing. There are a lot of cameos (Winter Soldier, Daredevil, Hawkeye, etc.) but instead of feeling like you're reading an Avengers book with a different title, it still feels like Black Widow's story because her actions are often brought into contrast with the other characters' (yes, even Punisher) which really brings her morality question, making for interesting reading. Noto's art is always gorgeous, and maybe you should pick up the book for that alone, but I think this is a great example of story complimenting art and each taking an equal responsibility for this being a great book.

I cannot say enough good things about this run. Seriously. Everything from the story, which touches on Natasha's past, her feels about the things around her, and her guilt for those things that have happened... it allows her to be a dark complex character (Which she is) without the need to water it down.... to the gorgeous art from Noto. His style really suits the book with the sort of water color look. I anxiously await each new issue.

This Black Widow is terrific, the artwork has a nice watercolor feel to it, and the Isiah backstory meshes with Natasha's story perfectly. There are some guest appearances from other Marvel players, which I enjoyed because I feel that each character brought something different out of Natasha. In general, this was a rough volume for her, and there's a serious edge to this one. Great series, and I'm a bigger fan of Widow as a result

Story leads nowhere. Most of the book is filler content and cameos.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't listen to haters, this book is awesome

This book was fantastic! I thought volume 1 was just okay, but this one was simply amazing. Really cool to see Black Widow interact with so many other characters we know and love. Daredevil, Punisher, Hawkeye, X23... The haters will say having these characters show up is just a gimmick to sell more books, but it doesn't feel forced like that. It makes sense in the context of the story and it works wonderfully.
Also I have to talk about the art... Phil Noto has done some absolutely incredible work here. He is quickly becoming one of my favourite artists. The detail he puts into his work is breathtaking, and the art alone should be enough to make this Black Widow run an easy buy for anyone. Great stuff, looking forward to volume 3!
