I loved the original series, and the stories here lived up to it. It wasn't perfect. Some of the interior sets were from the Moore series, and Adama kept switching between having a beard or not, but overall the stories were satisfying.

While many franchises have way passed their overload capacity, the original Battlestar Galactica still has some life in it.

The writers of this collection of BG stories have a superb command of its universe. Abnet and others really understand the characters of Adama, Apollo, Starbuck, Athena and others. I wish they had been able to write for the original series.
Art Ross's beautiful covers are outstanding. Don't know what else to say.
Many of these stories focus on Athena, Adama's daughter and Apollo's sister, played by the beautiful Maren Jensen and not given enough of the limelight in my opinion.
The controversial story "Death of Apollo" is included. Controversial because a main character dies, beautiful because it really hits the heartstrings. It's a powerful story. Don't know if it's canon, but it's moving.
My one criticism is that I would have loved to have seen more of Cassie and Sheba here, but one can't have everything.
I enjoyed this collection. It's a pity the comic book series didn't continue. It was well done.
