Batman/Catwoman (2020-) #2 Kindle & comiXology

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 106 ratings

Phantasm has come to Gotham City! Andrea Beaumont, the one-time love of Bruce Wayne, is looking for her lost child, and she’s pretty sure The Joker is involved. So, who better to have as an ally than Batman? And what better way to get to Batman than through Catwoman? It’s a knotted history for this costumed quartet, spanning past, present, and future. What The Joker did to Selina Kyle at the beginning of her career will have deadly consequences at the end of their lives. Tom King’s ultimate tale of the Dark Knight kicks into high gear as the story roars down the avenues only hinted at in the pages of Batman.

Loved it! Even better than the first! I hope this goes on forever! I don't think that is possible. I dig Tom king

I look to forward to more work from these creators and hopefully more Batman Catwoman comic books. They’re are the best duo.

Now that’s more like it! I didn’t love the first one, but this issue is picking up the pace. Selena and the-guy-she-visits (no spoilers) get down to settling their business. The good idea for a plot picks up steam.

Also I noticed an Easter egg on a Gotham subway. A “Beware the Grey Ghost” poster, a reference to Batman The Animated Series. I’m the world of Batman, The Grey Ghost was a fictional crime fighter that Bruce had seen and partially modeled himself after.

Cool, on to #3.

The comic was written well fun and leaves us waiting for the next. Can't wait to read the next installment

I'm a fan of Writer Tom King's work, but with only issue #2, I'm not a fan of this new series.

It may be that Mr. King had grown weary of writing this particular character for so many years, or just that he has other projects that he is more absorbed in completing, but this series volleys between time periods of Catwoman's life with Batman at a pace that never gives the reader time to absorb it all. Even worse, there is little narration, leaving it to the artist to fill in the spaces of this threadbare plot. While I can't recommend this particular issue, I'm willing to give Mr. King another chance.

The art is fantastic the story telling is just bad. There is so much hopping around, time jumps and there is absolutely no story progression. You learn nothing. its like King is just drawing the story out to force the reader to buy the next one in the hopes we get to the story eventually and at 5dollars a pop that is expensive for a story that is going on issue three and has made very little progress.

This is great stuff. Timelines force you to keep track but how can you when the art is just so damn good?

The story line is great, but the artwork is outstanding. I’m a huge Batman fan and as I say the artwork is so outstanding. Looking forward to the next issue.
