This final volume is as entertaining as its predecessors, however I felt like Knightfall's plan to take over Gotham city was concluded too quickly after such a long buildup, and I really wish Simone had portrayed the battle with more pages.
The very final issue in this volume was a bit unusual, with Barbara marrying a GCPD cop only for her brother James to cut the marriage short. The issue then continues with Barbara infiltrating various criminal organization, and even works with Bane. I was a bit confused by the ending, but I'm glad it wasn't a cliffhanger.
Written by Gail Simone, except for 30, by Marguerite Bennet
27 - A Gothopia Crossover - The main Gothopia 3-parter is here Batman: Detective Comics Vol. 5: Gothtopia (The New 52) - Not a dream! Not a hoax! Not an imaginary story! Ok, maybe it's... a dream?
28, 29 - A new bad guy, Silver, thinks the Bat-family are vampires. Guest-starring the mute Talon Strix.
30 - The Midnight Man is sort of like the Candyman or Bloody Mary. As this was written by a different author, Barbara's narration seems off, as if she were a librarian rather than a criminology major.
Annual - Over the course of a year, Batgirl teams up with Poison Ivy to fight wealthy villain Mr. Rain. Guest-stars the rest of the New 52 Birds of Prey for a bit.
31 - Batgirl vs. Ragdoll. Also ties into the Knightfall arc.
32-34 - (the Deadline story) Finishes the Knightfall story, with Black Canary, Huntress (from Earth 2, I think) and other guest stars.
Batgirl: Future's End. Even great authors write disappointing Future's End stories.
Not quite as good as previous volumes. A collection of stories that are largely disconnected from each other. There are references to other things going on with the Bat-family that you may or may not be aware of - Damian's (temporary) death, Dick Grayson's "death," Commissioner Gordon's arrest. Still, Gail Simone's Batgirl was one of the better books of the New 52, and I recommend reading the entire run, in order, starting with this one Batgirl Vol. 1: The Darkest Reflection (The New 52) .
After this volume, Batgirl moves to Burnside and gets a new writer/artist team. Batgirl Vol. 1: The Batgirl of Burnside (The New 52) I haven't gotten around to reading that one yet.

The series started with a very weakened, very insecure Barbara becoming the Batgirl after a huge absence thanks the Joker. As you will know then she fights various villains and becomes more and more competent. In the last volume she proved she could successfully defend herself against some of the strongest villains in the Batgirl rogue gallery. This volume is the end of the run for Simone and now she proves she can form her own form of the justice league. I won't give away details but it is a great finale against an equally powerful villain.
Definitely worth reading.
