I love the fact that Marvel releases early stories of Scott Lang's first run as Ant-Man. I also like the fact that Ant-Man was introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe where Paul Rudd plays Scott Lang in "Ant-Man" (2015) & "Captain America: Civil War" (2016) and he will reprises the role in two upcoming blockbuster movie in 2018: "Avengers: Infinity War" & "Ant-Man and the Wasp". But this book features Scott Lang first donned the Ant-Man costume. He made a cameo appearance in Avengers #181 but he appeared in his own story in Marvel Premiere #47-48 where Scott stole the Ant-Man costume from Dr. Hank Pym's lab & became Ant-Man in order to save his daughter Cassie who was very ill. He even went toe-to-toe with Darren Cross and of course, Hank Pym (who was Yellowjacket at the time) makes a cameo appearance. Then, Scott makes a cameo appearance in Iron Man #125 (part of Iron Man "Demon in the Bottle" storyline) where he first meets Tony Stark. Then he teams up with Iron Man in Iron Man #131-133 where they takes on the Incredible Hulk. Then he joins forces with the Avengers in Avengers #195-196 in a rescue mission to save the Wasp & their first encounter with Taskmaster. Then Scott joins forces with Spider-Man in Marvel Team-Up #103 as they takes on Taskmaster. Then Scott makes another guest appearance in Iron Man #151 and teams up with the Thing in Marvel Two-in-One #87. Then the story concludes when Scott Lang teams up with Hawkeye in Avengers #223 (part of Avengers "The Trial of Yellowjacket" storyline) as they takes on Taskmaster at the circus.

These are great stories featuring Scott Lang as Ant-Man. I'm glad Marvel put these stories into one graphic novel. This is a five-stars book!

Ant Man has long been a favorite character of mine, and this collection is a good starting point for the Scott Lang character. It includes his first appearances in Marvel Premiere, and then every subsequent appearance up to Avengers 223. The only shortcoming of the series is a 3-part Iron Man adventure with the Hulk that has Scott pretty much sitting out for the first two issues and then finally putting on the costume for the third. Otherwise, this collection has it all, including not one, not two, but THREE run-ins with Taskmaster (one with Wasp and Yellowjacket, one with Spider-Man, and one with Hawkeye). Great artwork all around, and if not for the 3-part Iron Man storyline it would have been a solid book. I wish they'd been able to take it further with some of Scott's later Avengers work, but a lot of this is reprinted for the first time so I'm very happy to have it.

Product came in bery quiclly and wven had a nice thank you note on the box. As kind as the thank you was, I just wish the thankyou wasnt written on the protective covering for the comic, because it ruins the covering causing me to have to use an older one

Excellent visit to Bronze Age comic story telling. If one compares to modern comic and comic-based movies today - the work does not match the dark tone and reality based images. However, when approaching the stories collected as they were intended - redemption, integrity, heroes who are flawed, yet people to look up to - the stories are well suited for an enjoyable read. Artwork is great - artistic style, composition, and work from the best of the industry in the 70's.

Don't pass up the re-introduction of Ant-Man and the character the current movie is based upon.

It's great to see these early stories from the 60s and 70s back in print and all collected in one place. If you're just discovering the character or have read Ant Man from the start this volume is worth picking up for an exciting read.

The work is a bit dated, but is a lot of fun. Despite hearing about this story over the years, it was great to finally live it.
