4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 87 ratings

War is over, democracy an illusion, real power now lies not with nation-states but huge corporations engaged in a silent war for global domination. Their number one weapon: highly-skilled, technologically-enhanced operatives trained since childhood to pledge their allegiance to the corporate flag. But what happens when one such operative breaks free of his mental chains and decides to bring the whole system down? Can one "Ronin" make a difference?

Review

"A story that's part-corporate espionage, part-superhuman thriller and unlike anything else on the stands at the moment." -The Hollywood Reporter

"A beautifully-delivered premiere. An intelligent, cerebral thriller, you get so much jampacked into this first issue: an engrossing story, stunning visuals, an espionage feel, and high-quality work all around."

A different kind of action hero
5 Stars
A different kind of action hero
This story is a cut above the standard kind of shoot-em-up action comic as writer Peter Mulligan seems to be exploring where the modern hero/anti-hero is going. This fairly nuanced approach for a mature audience is done with amazing art, drama and action. Mulligan uses a clever device to get a psychological depth that I am not used to seeing in comics. Superbly inked by David Lorenzo, with just the right level of detail. Color master Dean White is at the top of his game with amazing sensitivity and rendering that makes me want to read it again and spend more time on each panel. Excellent!

A true unique concept that surprised at every turn. The art can be confusing at times but the story is still easy to keep up with. Very good book.

An assassin seeks revenge on the corporation he used to work for. Meanwhile the corp has sent an assassin after him. They both have the ability to take your DNA and inject it into themselves to see your memories. Yeah, it makes no sense. Better off to make them telepaths. DNA doesn’t contain memory or thoughts. Another half-baked idea from Peter Milligan.

ACO is the star of this book, his art is incredible, and mixed with a mind mixing plot and script from Peter Milligan? It makes for a dirty, twisting story of revenge and murder.

Okay, with a pointless ending. Won't bother with the rest of the series. Seven more words required, I am told.

Buena historia, futuro de alteraciones geneticas y megacorps, vale la pena por el precio
