The book itself is perfect, exactly what I wanted however who ever packed this literally just grabbed a box, that was not a right fit I might add and just threw the item in there. Seriously I understand things are difficult at the moment but this was a gift for someone and now I need to fix it fast.

Amazing Spider-Man volume 18 (Venom) of the epic collection was a little disappointing when it first came out due to printing production. Luckily the problems have been fixed on the 2nd reprint. From the missing "epic collection" on the spine of the book to the quality of the paper used are now resolved.

Great buy, let's folks read the first appearances of Venom without the high cost of the original copies of the comic run, also has the first appearances of Styx and Stone and the creepy Jonathan Caesar

I grew up with the David Michelinie run on Spider-Man so maybe I'm a little biased. Seems like Todd McFarlane was still figuring out what he wanted to do on this one but it's still a great volume.

Just like I remember, a Sunday afternoon as a kid reading some of my favorite comics. Good times. Now during this pandemic and the technology of the 21st century I can read my old comics digitally! Thank you for such a pleasant memory.

It's just OK, not really a collection of Venom stories. It's classic Spider Man, so a bunch of storytelling through though bubbles (instead of just using the artwork to move the plot along,) and a bunch of those annoying "see this or that issue to know what the heck is going on" notes at the bottom of every other panel. Having to go through several stories just to see my favorite part isn't as enjoyable as a tootsie pop "how many pages does it take to get to the center?" When you pay for a Venom book you want to see Todd McFarlane's awesome artwork, Venom being a horror movie villain, and Spider Man getting his a$$ handed to him on a silver platter. This ain't it baby, this ain't it!

Good condition, came fast. Heads up, only first 203 pages include Symbiote Spiderman/Venom.

My favorite anti-hero is brought to life in the pages by the Toddfather! This exceptional collection spans McFarlane's earliest Spidey works brilliantly. A must read collection! Some new characters feel a little flat (i.e. I really like Silver Sable, but her stories herein are not very memorable).
Regardless, the artwork throughout is stunning!

I was skeptical after reading the other reviews, but gave it a shot. My copy is in great shape, cover and every page just as it should be. No fading, no bent cover. I'm very satisfied.

3.0 out of 5 stars Only buy this book if you're looking for some good comic art
Reviewed in Canada on July 5, 2020
Amazing Spider-man Epic Collection: Venom has quite a misleading title as Venom only appears in one or two comic issues in this book. If you're looking for a proper Spider-man graphic novel that has the origin of Venom and Spider-man's Black Symbiote suit, then just go and buy Spider-man: Birth of Venom. The only reason why I bought this book is because I only wanted a graphic novel that compiles a large chunk of Todd McFarlane's artwork on The Amazing Spider-man comics from the late 80s to early 90s, and this graphic novel does have just that, the entire first half of Todd McFarlane's run as the penciler for The Amazing Spider-man comics, plus a few other Spider-man comic issues from around the same time. The writing is a bit iffy, but I do really like the Todd McFarlane artwork. I just think it looks really cool and unique. My only real complaint for this book is the fact that my particular copy has a big cut on the cover of the book as if someone accidentally cut it with a pocket knife while trying to put it in the package. I honestly don't think that the paper quality is as bad as everyone makes it out to be. But again, I would only recommend this book to those who just want to essentially collect the first half of Todd McFarlane's run as the penciler for The Amazing Spider-man comics from the late 80s/early 90s. So to make it fair, I give this book 3 out of 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars New non-Quad printing.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 31, 2020
Marvel has since produced a second printing of this Epic Collection, and the good news is it is the normal printing as with the other Epic Collections. i.e. not the Quad printing. This is what I received from Amazon today, and it is a nice addition to my Epic Collection.

1.0 out of 5 stars This volume has very poor quality printing. Shame.
Reviewed in Australia on November 1, 2019
It seems like everyone else, I too got a copy printed with the same manufacturing error and problems. The paper is cheap and doesnt sit flat due to the ink making it wavey. The cover was too thin and seems as if it was pulled too tight when it was cut, so now curls back. The book wasnt cut straight so sit at a slight angle on a shelf and is not flush. The first few pages that keep the pages grounded to the cover are glued in at and angle, so the entire book is fighting against itself when closed. What happens when everything is not flat and perfectly lined up when bound, you get a stress point halfway down the spine where the top half is pushing against the bottom to be flush... The book doesnt lay flat on a table.

I will update this when Amazon give me a resolution, hopefully a full refund. Who know if Marvel issues a reprinting. Seems this Quad Publishing company is very poor quality indeed. None of my other Epics are this bad. I recently got the Conan books and the quality is top notch with high quality paper and a thick cover stock, yet they were much cheaper than this volume of Spiderman. I am hoping the other 2 Spiderman volumes I ordered are in ideal shape, because constantly having to vontact Amazon about damaged books is growing tiresome.

3.0 out of 5 stars Histórias boas, impressão ruim

Dou 3 estrelas porque as histórias são bem legais, mas a qualidade de impressão dessa edição merecia apenas 1. Não dá pra gastar 140 reais num livro e a capa dobrar só pelo fato de você ter aberto pra folhear.
