She's the best there is! X-23 was created to be a weapon; for a time, that's all she was. But with the help of her mentor, Logan — the original Wolverine — she escaped that dark past. Now, the man she knew has fallen, but Laura will honor his memory as the All-New Wolverine. But with the famous cowl comes a world of misery and mystery — like the devastating secret of the Sisters. Uncovering it will involve new friends Doctor Strange and the Wasp, and lethal new enemies like the Taskmaster! But after recent events, Laura is growing used to doing everything in her power to save those around her from forces hell-bent on destruction. If anyone can stop them, it's Laura. After all, it's what Wolverine does.

About the authors
He is a cartoonist graduated in illustration from the School of Art of Zaragoza in 1996. That same year he starts publishing comics in the fanzine "451º" where he meets other authors from Zaragoza with whom he will share his career since then. He became a professional with "Espiral" (1998) in the Brut collection of the publishing house La Cúpula.
From the year 2000 he starts working for the big American publishers, first in Marvel and then in DC Comics where he will be consecrated with titles such as "Fallen Angel" (2002), co-created with Peter David and, above all, "Catwoman" (2004), which he draws uninterruptedly for no less than 30 issues, breaking several records.
In 2008 he returned to Marvel with a closer collaboration; in "Avengers: The Reunion" (2008), he brought the love of the main superheroes to Zaragoza, and continued in the publishing house drawing for some of its flagship series: X-Men, Spider-Man or Guardians of the Galaxy.
His most mediatic contribution to the Marvel mythology has been his work in "Captain Marvel" (2014) together with the scriptwriter Kelly Sue de Connick, work that inspired the 2019 movie based on that same character.
It is with "BlackHand & IronHead" (2017) when he returns to writing his own creations. This graphic novel was published in installments in Panel Syndicate, in digital format, and later published by Panini Italia (2018), Astiberri (2019) in Spain, Dargaud (2019) in France and Image (2020) in the United States.
David López has worked for the best publishers in the world and has drawn their most important characters, receiving nominations for the main national and American industry awards.
Currently, in addition to drawing covers for the majors, he is publishing the second part of "BlackHand & IronHead" and hosts regularly in the comic channel "Streaming de dibujantes".
Tom Taylor is a #1 New York Times bestselling and Eisner award-winning comic book writer, playwright and screenwriter. Well known for his work with DC Comics and Marvel, Taylor is the co-creator of NEVERLANDERS from Penguin Random House, SEVEN SECRETS from Boom Studios and the Aurealis-Award-winning graphic novel series THE DEEP. Taylor is also the co-creator and executive producer of The Deep animated series.
He is perhaps best known for the DC Comics series, DCEASED, NIGHTWING (nominated for 8 Eisner Awards), SUPERMAN: SON OF KAL-EL, INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US, SUICIDE SQUAD, EARTH 2 and BATMAN/SUPERMAN as well as Marvel's FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN, ALL NEW WOLVERINE, X-MEN: RED, DARK AGES and SUPERIOR IRON MAN. Taylor is also the writer of many Star Wars series, which include STAR WARS: INVASION and STAR WARS: BLOOD TIES.

So gather 'round True Believers! This is a story of how a normal man was made into a proud mutant.
To start off, my knowledge of the X-Men had primarily come from their respective movies, which are just surface level glances at the material during their best moments. Heresy, I know, but I was a kid watching superhero movies. It's what kids do. As I grew up, I stuck to mainstays such as Spider-Man and Batman while only dipping my toes into the tepid pool of Superman in my teens. Then, there came along a film called "Logan" (Which you should totally see, by the way, it'll only enhance the experience this book delivers) and I found myself standing at the precipice. Looking down, I had begun to see the inklings of what compelled so many to jump. But, it was not until I picked up this book on something of a whim that I took a few steps back and dove in headfirst.
What this book has is character. It's genuine, as well as heartfelt. You truly get the sense while reading that the book's creators stepped up to the plate, gave 110%, and left it all out there on the field. From the writing by author Tom Taylor to the stellar artwork done by David Lopez, everyone involved has a clear love for the character and a reverence for those who came before them.
What else can truly be said? A lot, actually. The dialogue is as sharp as Wolverine's claws while the pacing and direction of the artwork is nothing short of spectacular. Never once was I taken out of Laura Kinney's world. I found myself walking behind her as she weathered the events of the story and came out on the other side a champion who's uncompromising in her stance as a hero.
So, if you're a fan or not, you need to read this book. Whether you're new, old, or a returning member of the group, you need to read this book. If you're reading this? Then you get the idea.
Go be a mutant.
A very Wolverine-ish story about shadowy organizations (Alchemax, as they are slowly becoming the evil scientists of the world) playing with Wolverine's genes to create super soldiers. Laura, however, is not trying to fill Logan's shoes so much as follow what he taught her back when they were together, and she manages to tackle things in a less violent (as pointed out by a lot of people she comes across) and yet still very familiar way.
Her first adventure manages to work in superscience (Pym style), magic (Strange style), and good old fashion claws vs private military action, as she tries to find a balance between what she was made to do and what she wants to be, and if you can't tell there's a lot of metaphors hidden in all the subtext of this book that make it a joy to pick through.
If I do have to leverage complaints: this is going to seem like a fairly tame beginning for her story, as there's no costumed villains running around (save an appearance so short it's more of a cameo despite having a nice fight to go with it) and most of the X-23 clones aren't too interesting outside of a couple of good scenes. However the sincere moments where we see inside the mind of our new yellow-and-blue sniktbub are good enough to elevate it above "average" and it does set up for an interesting aftermath following the events of this book (at least with the new characters and how they're going to fit into Laura's life).
The series does call back to some of X-23's history but besides for knowing what the stinger means (someone familiar shows up) and what the various pictures that are a little more vague that happen in a splash page flashback are, you don't really need to be too familiar with Laura to read this one and enjoy it.
So in the end it's not a must-have book, but it's not a terrible one either, and there's just enough in here to really dig into.
