they have a son named Jon – but it was good to see some of the old
Superman is back!Take that from a sexagenarian who grew up with Superman during the Silver Age of Comics. He has matured, he has married Lois Lane, they have a son named Jon – but it was good to see some of the old, familiar characteristics of one of my favorite superheroes of that era.In the current story, Superman (aka Kal-el on Krypton) meets a man claiming to be his father, Jor-el. The truth of that claim is never quite resolved, but it is the conflict between Ka-el and Jor-el that takes up most of this book. With the exception of missing the departure of Supergirl from Krypton (was she dropped from the modern age stories?), the story fits well with the traditions with which I was raised. The colors are bright and attention-getting. I would not expect a 21st-century artist to imitate the work of those who lived through the 50’s and 60’s; such is the case, As the attached clipping may show, occasionally I was caught a bit off guard. It was fun for this old man to catch up with a story that he followed as closely as possible as a child and a young teen.______________This review is based on a free electronic copy provided by the publisher for the purpose of creating this review. This volume tie a lot of questions up. It somewhat slightly ties in with other stories because of the Oz character. Really good read.

2017s Action Comics The Oz Effect, a story-arc at least 1-3 years in the making is a mix of action, surprise, emotion, political and social commentary and generally good art that keeps you at the edge of your of seat though this story-arc, I really enjoyed this arc (I first read this as it was coming out) and would recommend this for any Superman and DC Universe fans and readers

This book is a continuation of a background storyline throughout the Rebirth line that seems to lead into Doomsday Clock. There were callbacks to elements in previous issues as well as DC Rebirth Special #1 that I didn't really remember, but Jurgens tries to remind the reader about those things. The plot of this volume wasn't bad, but I didn't enjoy it as much as the previous Action Comics trades in this series. The story feels a little chaotic--and while that's probably intentional, it made for a less satisfying arc. The art is fantastic and there are some fun cameos.

Nice story, but I think that DC could’ve made it more epic. Still, very good.
