Hugo Award-nominated novelist Saladin Ahmed (Black Bolt) and artist Sami Kivelä (Beautiful Canvas) present one woman’s search for the truth that destroyed her family. Just what the world needs (again). A badass black/female Detective/Reporter. A kinda black LOIS LANE on an X-FILES mission. Diggin into da Guts of what makes a story worth reporting. I have read this multiple times already.

This is a great start to the series. Gritty and dark with a compelling, interesting lead character. I am hooked. Also, this is my first sbcomics order, and I am quite pleased. The comic came boarded and bagged and packaged very well. No creases and no damage in transit because of how well it was packaged. I am a happy customer!

Guess I can’t complain as it was only 1.99. I read the whole thing while waiting in line at DQ,lol. Maybe I’m just used to reading books that are much longer, even for same price or cheaper.
Will I purchase again? Possibly, but I’d rather pay a bit more to have more chapters to read at once.
Overall it is nice and I’m definitely interested in finding out what happens next.

Great story and art that keeps your attention from start to finish. This is definitely an entertaining comic that I want to read more of!

Wow great start. Abbott is such an interesting character. And that cliff hanger at the end definitely has me hooked!

Great book from a great team. Sucks you into 70s Detroit and makes you feel like you’re there. A+, can’t wait for more.

This book is everything I hoped. Hard boiled period piece with an inspiring hero and a touch of the occult.

Mix of period detail, all too contemporary politics, and creepy evil mystery. I am in to see where this goes.

Yes, it’s only the first part of the story, but for less than the price of a cup of coffee I am not complaining. The story buzzes along with tight story construction, snappy dialogue and engaging graphics. There is hardly a line or a word that doesn’t contribute to plot development. The work that has gone into this is prodigious, and it pays off. I was hooked from the free sample on Kindle.

Another thing: the Kindle edition uses the new technology allowing both the traditional full page layout and frame-by-frame view at the tap of a finger (I am using Kindle for iPhone). Brilliant!
