In the midst of a postapocalyptic world, a lone avenging champion named Evelyn Town struggles as she watches civilization collapse around her. Evelyn's lover, Gil, is nowhere to be found and she has failed to save her mother from the cannibals who terrorize the remaining survivors. Evelyn is taken aback by all that has challenged her since accepting the power given to her by the mysterious being known as Word. Will Evelyn's newfound power help to reunite her with Gil? And can Gil survive the hellish world, ruled by a twisted child champion, in which he now finds himself living?
