I loved this issue - it had a lot less action than the previous issues, but the dialogue with Hal, and Miller's narration of Batman's thoughts really made this an interesting read. I find it completely funny that Batman sees GL as a complete idiot. I do like GL, but this is an interesting take on the Batman-GL relationship. The last few pages, focusing on grief, give great insight to the development of the relationship between Batman and Robin. I give it 4 out of 5 - and I can't wait for the next issue.

This was the first issue of this book that I did not just find hysterically funny for reasons that were almost certainly not what Miller intended. It's been so ridiculously over-the-top and yet seems to want you to take it seriously as part of the same continuity as "The Dark Knight Returns". But the ending of this issue actually brought the story into believable, interesting territory. For once I'm looking forward to the next issue as something other than unintentional comedy, although I fear this is only a momentary diversion.

I'm on the fence about this book... I liked Jim Lee, in the 90s, not so much a fan of him now, and I used to love Frank Miller, but it seems like he's phoning this in from what I had previously read. Has it gotten better? Because what I saw in earlier issues was really bad.
