This is a solid start to what should be a great maxi-series. Steve Sadowski's art is amazing and as usual Alex Ross amazes with an incredible cover. The story hits all the right beats and I found the WWII scenes to be a really nice re-introduction to the Invaders for the people who may have never heard of them. Let me say this Jim Krueger and Alex Ross know how to write Spiderman banter.. And the last page to me was worth the price of admission.
My only major gripe is we have been told by Marvel that this story counts that its not a alternate reality or anything like that, but where does it fit?? If it was during Secret Invasion the characters would be like "He's a Skrull get him!!". Its possible that it could be right before but that doesnt feel right. Hopefully Marvel will come clean soon.
Overall though this was not on my orginal Pull List but its been added after the first issue. If your a fan of the Avengers grab this book.
