As a new reader to Wildstorm I loved Authority World End #1-5 and I hate to say it but I was disappointed by most of #6. The issue however was redeemed by the final page of the Engineer and some of the middle scenes of the Carrier re-powering.
I'm not too familiar with Stormwatch so maybe that's why I couldn't geek out on some of those moments.

Loved this issue! DnA and Simon Coleby are a writing and art team perfectly aligned to their story values and each others' work. A very tightly paced, satisfying, eventful issue, drawing in threads from all of the previous issues, and with a killer last page. Fantastic. It'll be interesting to see how this crossover story is picked up in Stormwatch #18 in a fortnight.
In artwork, script and overall characterisation, I think this is the best The Authority has been for years.

(SPOILERS)
This was an amazing issue! There were so many cool moments: The arrival of Stormwatch on The Carrier. Lorenzo and The Golden looking for their lost sibling. King and Hawksmoor’s conversation about turning The Carrier into a city again. The reactivation of The Carrier! When Eidolon decided to attack, I was surprised at how fast they went through the whole thing. I thought we’d get at least an issue of the siege, but DnA are smarter than that. They gave us a great summary of a battle showing key moments of it with each of the characters. And when I got to the end of the story I realized why they did it. Angie as The Engineer on the last page was awesome! Such a great moment. I can’t believe I’m enjoying The Authority this much! The back-up story with Christie Blaze is giving an interesting look at some Wildstorm history. I haven’t read Divine Right: The Adventures of Max Faraday in a while but I remember The Creation Wheel artifact which is shown in this story. And seeing Dominique Faust again was pretty cool. It’ll be interesting to see what else we learn in this back-up story.

I’m chomping at the bits to read this issue, I’ve been looking forward to this meeting between Authority and Stormwatch ever since issue #1 each title. The preview for Authority #6 looks fantastic and has me wondering what King is going to say to Hawksmoor.
Authority: Prime left the team in a tentative ‘truce’ with the Authority have the upper hand, but now with the roles reversed it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out. Also there’ll be a double dose of Authority and Stormwatch for two months and you can’t go wrong with that.

If you had told me at the turn into 2008, that I'd be buying all the Wildstorm Universe titles, I wouldn't have believed you. I didn't believe there was anything left for the characters to give. Boy was I wrong.
Moving the universe into Worlds End has revitalized the brand, moving its trademark 'Edge' into a post apocalyptic scenario.
Talking about the Authority specifically, let me say that Abnett & Lanning's writing on this is every bit as strong as their work on Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy. They write a group (that has been crushed by their failure to save the world in such a way) that you can't help but come back for more.
WIth the issues coming out ON TIME, EVERY TIME... if you've got a spare $2.99 this week, this is what your money should be going on!
