A mysterious sword dancer, who might reveal what happened to Lucien during his five-year absence, entertains Shakuya and her two fiances at an oasis. The dancer may also have some important connection to Shakuya's father, who was sent into exile years ago. Then tragedy strikes when Kuwan -- while trying to defend the Princess from a band of rogues - is dealt a seemingly fatal blow!
